CPPD/Print is the complete System i printing strategy.
CPPD/Print has been designed for System i installations using any software application that produces standard printouts, which need to be customised and printed without changing the original print program. Documents such as Purchase Orders, Invoices and Statements etc., are often required to reflect the company image by including a company logo. In addition some of the details on the standard print file may not be required and extra data may need to be added. Such modifications require the original print program to be changed; this can be expensive and time consuming, at a time when resources may be limited. Output from existing ERP applications may have to be modified each time a new release is installed, CPPD/Print can make these modifications unnecessary, resulting in significant cost savings. |

| Features |
- System i spooled files are automatically selected from
any System i print output queue. The CPPD/Designer provides a familiar MS Windows front end which allows
you to specify text to be rearranged, data to be tested for
specified conditions, variable item lines to be processed
correctly, images and form overlays to be included, extra
text added to the document, output specified, plus many
other functions. This set of instructions is stored on the
System i and used to process the selected spooled file.
- CPPD/Print has the ability to generate output to standard
line printers as well as network laser and thermal
printers, print formats supported include PCL, SCS,
AFP, IPDS, PDF and various thermal print data streams..
A single print file can be directed to any number of
different outputs depending on the data in the print file.
The type of output device is set-up in CPPD/Print and
can be easily changed.
- Additional data can be added from the System i database
and features such as barcode labels, integration with
automated mailing machines and selected fonts can
be included in the output
- Central to CPPD/Print is the System i print queue,
therefore printed output generated on the System i can
be directed to any System i printer. Remote printers can
be used and print files produced in different countries
using the local character set.
- CPPD/Print brings a new approach to System i print
design and distribution enabling legacy systems to
be bought up to date without the need for expensive
reprogramming.
